Welcome to Hamburg Winterhude!

Winterhude is a small and quite an independent “town” within the city of Hamburg …more than just a quarter.

This is also reflected in the typical Winterhude restaurant scene. Just a few steps from the Hotel Cristobal you will find excellent Italian restaurants, Spanish cuisine from different parts of the peninsula, Sushi, fine German cuisine and much more.

A green oasis in the district is the Hamburg City Park with the Planetarium. It enjoys great popularity, not only among the residents of Winterhude. In the summer, numerous open-air concerts with famous artists take place on the city park stage.

Winterhude offers a broad selection of leisure activities. Friends of the upscale boulevard theatre make a special effort to come to the Winterhuder Fährhaus. It is the only Hamburg theatre that has specialised in light classical theatre and comedy.

If you prefer political and satirical cabaret, then go on to Alma Hoppes Lustspielhaus.

A location particularly well known for theatre and dance performances is the former factory building Kampnagel in Jarrestraße.

Just minutes away from downtown, you can experience the green idyll of the residential areas close to Alster lake and creek.

Take the opportunity to go by canoe, kayak or rowboat through a few of the numerous canals or the Alster. You want to go stand up paddling on the Alster? No problem. Rental stations for SUP boards can be found in close proximity.

Elegant boutiques and stores line the street Mühlenkamp. Design, tailored products, antiques and art—you’ll be sure to find an interesting selection of objects in this wonderful area, all of it surrounded by the water and the Alster canals. And if you see one or another well known face from the television – don’t be surprised. They also appreciate Winterhude.
